Floor Jansen Facts

Growing up, Jansen wanted to be a biologist.

She was 15 years old when she discovered her passion for making music after being featured in a school musical.

She is a vegetarian.

Prior to Jansen becoming a full-time musician, she worked as a singing tutor.

In 2018, Jansen had a new species of beetle named after her that was dubbed Tmesisternus floorjansenae. This made her the 2nd member of the band Nightwish to have a newly discovered species named after them.

Jansen is a soprano. Her vocals range from classical to belting and raspy vocals like screaming and death growls.

In the past, Jansen trained in musical theatre and also attended opera lessons for a year.

After parting ways with After Forever, Jansen started training performing arts in a course called the Wanna be a Star?!.

With time, she has collaborated with various bands such as Northward, After Forever, ReVamp, Star One, MaYan, Ayreon, Avalon, and Sabaton.

She is very good at playing the guitar, piano, and flute.

With After Forever, Jansen released her debut studio album titled Prison of Desire in the year 2000.
